Michigan’s Food Assistance Program, also known as SNAP, helps low-income families supplement their grocery budgets. MDHHS directs residents to MI Bridges to apply for food assistance, check eligibility, manage an account, and report changes.

Wayne Metro lists housing stability, homeless services, water assistance, energy bill assistance, food support, property tax assistance, financial counseling, and related programs. For residents experiencing homelessness in Detroit, Hamtramck, or Highland Park, CAM Detroit is the coordinated entry starting point.

Water And Utility Help

The City of Detroit says the DWSD Lifeline Plan can provide a fixed monthly water, sewerage, and drainage bill, usage allowance, and shutoff protection while enrolled and paying the monthly bill. The city lists lifeline.detroitmi.gov and 313-435-2055 as application routes.
