Who won tonight?
This section will be updated as results are reported and trusted race calls are made. A candidate leading an incomplete count is not automatically a winner. Just Say OK will label each result as one of the following:
- Projected winner: called by the Associated Press or another named decision desk.
- Unofficial winner: the top vote-getter after the reporting jurisdiction shows a complete unofficial count.
- Certified winner: confirmed only after the official canvass and certification.
Called contested races: None yet at the time of this update.
Key races to watch
Democratic U.S. Senate primary
U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed are competing for the Democratic nomination. Mallory McMorrow ended her campaign in July but remained on the ballot. The nominee will face Republican Mike Rogers, who was the only Republican Senate candidate on the primary ballot, in November.
Michigan governor
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson are the leading active candidates in the Democratic primary. The Republican field includes U.S. Rep. John James, Perry Johnson and other candidates whose names remained on the ballot. Results and race calls will be added here when available.
13th Congressional District
Democratic U.S. Rep. Shri Thanedar faces state Rep. Donavan McKinney in the district anchored by Detroit. Follow our separate 13th District live-results report for the count and winner call.
Wayne County and local proposals
Wayne County voters are also deciding county, legislative and local races and proposals, including a regional transit millage question. We will add the Wayne County totals when the county’s unofficial reporting system begins publishing results.
